# MortgageCompare privacy policy

MortgageCompare is a public, anonymous mortgage comparison calculator. It processes the structured loan terms you provide without creating a MortgageCompare account or storing a borrower profile. The website, REST calculation endpoints, and MCP tools do not require a MortgageCompare login.

You can enter terms in the calculator or ask ChatGPT to read Loan Estimates attached to your conversation. Only the confirmed financial figures needed for comparison are sent to the MortgageCompare service; the service does not receive the original documents.

## Information processed

The calculator processes loan amounts, note interest rates, terms, fees, points, lender credits, prepaid amounts, mortgage-insurance amount and duration, monthly housing expenses, and the expected time keeping the loan. Optional context includes quoted APR, quoted cash to close, estimate and rate-lock dates, and a document/page reference. Labels should identify an offer or lender rather than a borrower.

Do not include account numbers, Social Security numbers, borrower addresses, or other personal identifiers in the calculator. Documents attached to ChatGPT remain subject to ChatGPT's own data controls and terms.

## Storage and sharing

The application has no borrower or user-account database and no automatic comparison storage. It calculates each request in memory and does not persist loan terms or report content. The calculator keeps current inputs in browser memory; its code does not use local storage, tracking cookies, or analytics. Reloading can clear edits.

When the calculator runs inside ChatGPT, ChatGPT may retain the conversation and tool results under your account's settings and redeliver a previous result. Anonymous MortgageCompare tools do not change ChatGPT's own account requirements or data practices.

Exported reports and JSON files are saved through your browser or ChatGPT to the location you select. You control those copies. MortgageCompare does not send terms to lenders, advertising networks, or lead buyers, and does not sell your data.

## Operational metadata

The application logs startup information and generic errors without logging calculation payloads or original documents. Sites provides public HTTP hosting; MortgageCompare does not use a Sites-managed private MCP connection or user identity to authorize calculations.

Hosting and network infrastructure may record normal operational metadata such as IP addresses, timestamps, request paths, and transport errors under their own data practices. Infrastructure metadata is separate from the calculator's in-memory handling of loan terms. The application does not promise that infrastructure produces no logs.

## Your choices and contact

Use anonymous offer labels and provide only the fields needed for comparison. Close the calculator to discard its in-memory edits and delete downloaded files when you no longer need them. Manage ChatGPT conversation retention through ChatGPT's data controls.
